Dean Johnson Comments on Immigration Detention Plan for LA Times
An Obama administration plan to overhaul the nation's immigration detention approach to move from a scattered network of local jails and private prisons to a centralized system designed specifically for civil detainees drew cautious praise from Dean Kevin R. Johnson in a recent Los Angeles Times article.
"It is nice to see that they are focusing on improving detention conditions rather than just increasing the number of people in detention," he said. "But the devil is in the details."
