Dean Johnson Comments on Deportations for The Daily Beast
Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented on the possible political implications of the record number of deportations taking place under the Obama administration for The Daily Beast, an online news and opinion publication founded by former New Yorker and Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown.
"Latinos are frustrated with the record level of deportations," says Dean Johnson, and many "may not turn out to vote, a real concern of the Obama campaign."
Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
