Dean Afsharipour, Professor Patel take part in National Business Law Scholars Conference

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Afra Afsharipour and Professor Menesh Patel participated in the National Business Law Scholars Conference held June 20-21 at UC Berkeley School of Law.

Afsharipour presented her paper “Women and M&A” during the Mergers & Acquisitions panel. Patel presented “Antitrust Breakups” during the Antitrust and Competition Law panel, for which Afsharipour served as moderator and discussant. Patel was moderator and discussant for the Antitrust and Monopoly Law panel.

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor Afra Afsharipour’s areas of research include comparative corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional law. Her scholarship has appeared in numerous law reviews, including the Columbia Law Review, the Minnesota Law Review, the Vanderbilt Law Review, and the UC Davis Law Review.

Professor Menesh Patel joined the UC Davis faculty in 2018. His primary research interests include antitrust, corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets. Prior to UC Davis, he was a fellow at Columbia Law School and Columbia Business School and practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP.
