In Daily Journal, Professor Frank Notes Ninth Circuit Environmental Highlights of 2021

On Dec. 30, the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals published an op-ed piece by Professor of Environmental Practice Richard Frank. Read the op-ed.

Frank’s column, headlined “The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals’ 10 Most Important Environmental Law Decisions of 2021,” noted that, after the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit is the most influential court in the United States when it comes to environmental and natural resources law. It is also the nation’s most prodigious, issuing approximately 50 published environmental decisions annually.

In his 2021 review, Frank cited, among his designated most important Ninth Circuit cases, decisions involving environmental justice, pesticide and herbicide regulation, climate change and Clean Air Act issues.

Richard M. Frank ’74 is a leader in the field of environmental law, Professor of Environmental Practice and the founding director of the California Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis School of Law.
