Court Rules Law Schools Must Grant Military Recruiters Equal Access

The Supreme Court on Monday ruled unanimously that law schools must allow military recruiters on campus if they want to receive federal funding despite objections to the Pentagons dont ask, dont tell policy. In Rumsfeld v. Forum for Academic and Institutional Rights (FAIR), justices rejected a claim by the coalition of universities challenging the constitutionality of the Solomon Amendment, a federal law that cuts off federal funds to universities that deny military recruiters access on the grounds it violates their First Amendment rights to free speech and association.
