In The Conversation, Professor Chin Explains Second Federal Indictment of Trump

A piece published in The Conversation by Professor Gabriel “Jack” Chin lent perspective to the Aug. 1 federal indictment of former President Donald Trump. The Justice Department’s second indictment of Trump alleges he “effectively attempted a particular kind of coup, called an auto-coup, in which he attempted to keep himself in power by illegal means,” Chin wrote.

Gabriel "Jack" Chin is Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law and holder of the Edward L. Barrett Jr. Endowed Chair at UC Davis School of Law.  He is a prolific and much-cited criminal and immigration law scholar whose work has addressed many of the most pressing social issues of our time.
