On Columbia Blog, Professor Bhagwat Examines Missouri v. Biden
In a Sept. 15 post for the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University blog, Professor Ashutosh Bhagwat explores Missouri v. Biden and when it is unconstitutional for the government to urge social media companies to remove content.
In October, Bhagwat will participate in a Knight Institute closed convening on “jawboning”, or informal government efforts to persuade, cajole or strong-arm private platforms to change their content-moderation policies.
Ashutosh Bhagwat, Boochever and Bird Endowed Chair for the Study and Teaching of Freedom and Equality and Distinguished Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law, is an innovative, broad-ranging, and widely published constitutional law scholar. He is the author of the 2020 book Our Democratic First Amendment (Cambridge University Press).
