Collaboration proposal from Professor Shestowsky earns seed grant from UC Davis Global Affairs

Professor Donna Shestowsky and Dr. Gail S. Goodman of the Department of Psychology have been awarded a seed grant from UC Davis Global Affairs to collaborate with a university in Russia.

The title of their proposal is “Psychology and Law: A University of California, Davis and Altai State University Interdisciplinary/International Collaboration.”  Funding for the project will be provided by the College of Liberal Arts and the International Programs, UC Davis School of Law.

Professor Shestowsky, who has both a law degree and a Ph.D. in psychology, is director of the Lawyering Skills Education Program, a professor of law and a Martin Luther King, Jr., Research Scholar at UC Davis School of Law, where she teaches Criminal Law, Negotiation Strategy, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a seminar in Legal Psychology.? She was the 2007 recipient of the Law School's Distinguished Teaching Award.

Dr. Goodman is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at UC Davis. Her research is in two major areas: memory development and  children’s abilities and experiences as victims/witnesses.
