Civil Rights Clinic Student Anujan Jeevaprakash '19 argues before Ninth Circuit

Anujan Jeevaprakash ‘19 presented oral argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco on May 16.

The Civil Rights Clinic represents the appellant in Dy v. Nale, an appeal by a state prisoner in a civil rights case. The case involves statutes of limitations and the rights under the Interstate Corrections Compact of a California prisoner transferred to another state. Jeevaprakash, who also authored the appellant’s reply brief, presented the argument before Judges Morgan Christen and Sandra Ikuta, and Senior Judge Clifford Wallace. Jeevaprakash is supervised by Professor Carter White, director of the Civil Rights Clinic.

Several King Hall professors assisted in preparing Jeevaprakash for the argument including Ashutosh Bhagwat, Gabriel “Jack” Chin, Margaret Johns, and Assistant Federal Defender David Porter.
