CILC Hosts International Law Roundtable
The California International Law Center at King Hall (CILC) hosted the second annual Roundtable of Northern California International Law Scholars at UC Davis School of Law on September 11. The event was co-sponsored by CILC and the American Society of International Law's ASIL-West. Professor Diane Marie Amann, founding director of CILC and an ASIL vice president, and Professor Andrea Bjorklund, a co-chair of ASIL-West, spearheaded the effort to bring the event to King Hall.
The roundtable included discussion of five scholarly papers, including Professor Anupam Chander's "Googling Freedom. Participants included ASIL President-Elect David Caron and Laurel E. Fletcher of UC Berkeley School of Law, Chimène Keitner and Bill Dodge of UC Hastings College of Law, Michael Malloy and Jarrod Wong of McGeorge School of Law, Helen Stacy of Stanford Law School, Connie de la Vega of University of San Francisco School of Law, as well as UC Davis School of Law Professors Amann, Bjorklund, Chander, Holly S. Cooper, Raha Jorjani, Shannon Weeks McCormack, and Lisa R. Pruitt. Also attending were King Hall staff members including Peg Durkin, head of public services at Mabie Law Library, and Dean Kevin R. Johnson, who delivered a welcome message. The event also included Allen Weiner of Stanford's presentation of a tribute to the late John Barton.
