Chris Butcher '07 Interviewed by Sacramento Bee Regarding Pro Bono Case
Chris Butcher '07, an associate with the Sacramento land-use and environmental law firm Remy, Thomas, Moose & Manley, was interviewed by the Sacramento Bee regarding his pro bono representation of the Avondale Glen Elder Neighborhood Association. The group is opposing plans to store 7.5 billion square feet of natural gas under the neighborhood. Butcher helped to secure a hearing with the California Public Utilities Commission to determine whether the project is truly needed.
In a November 16 article on the hearing, Butcher is quoted several times. The members of the neighborhood association "understand that natural gas is an important resource," he said. "However, storage of natural gas below this densely populated urban neighborhood is not needed."
