Associate Dean Amar to Testify Before Congress on Senate Vacancies
Associate Dean Vikram Amar has been invited to testify before Congress on federal legislation that would require special elections to fill Senate vacancies, which currently may be filled by gubernatorial appointment. Associate Dean Amar, who has expressed reservations about specifics of the plan in interviews with National Public Radio and other media, will speak to the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on the Constitution and the House Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties on March 11 in Washington, D.C.
