Assoc. Dean Amar Comments on ‘Don't Ask, Don't Tell' for Law.com
Associate Dean Vikram Amar commented for Law.com on a federal judge's order halting all Defense Department proceedings aimed at discharging gay and lesbian personnel. The Justice Department is expected to appeal on the basis that the judge's order should not apply to proceedings beyond those of the individuals who sued in her court.
Associate Dean Amar said that it is likely the judge's authority properly extended only to the plaintiffs. ""There's a good chance that the court of appeals will say it's an overreach," he said.
