Aoki Center Lecture Focuses on Water Law and Indigenous Rights
This week, the Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies continued its Interdisciplinary speaker series. Professor Beth Rose Middleton of the UC Davis Department of Native American Studies talked on “Removing Dams, Restoring Homelands: Native American and Indigenous Studies Approaches to Dam Removal and River Restoration.” Addressing aging water structures and restoring river systems is critical in a time of climate change and increasing water scarcity.
A group of students and faculty interested in water law and indigenous rights attended Professor Middleton’s thoughtful presentation.
