Alumni Profile: David Kesselman '99 and Aimee Dudovitz '99

Aimee Dudovitz and David KesselmanDavid Kesselman and Aimee Dudovitz are both 1999 graduates of King Hall who have gone on to thriving legal careers in the Los Angeles area and who retain close ties to UC Davis School of Law, volunteering for the Law School in various capacities despite the demands of their busy schedules.  They're also one of the many married couples who started dating while students at King Hall.

"It's one indication of the strong sense of community you find at King Hall," said Kesselman."We are by no means the only ones who met their spouse there.  We both have very fond memories of the Law School and the people we met there, and we've stayed in touch with many of them."

Kesselman is now a partner at Blecher & Collins, a small Los Angeles-based firm that focuses on plaintiff-side antitrust litigation, where his work on a wide range of complex business litigation has resulted in his being listed in the 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 "Rising Stars" edition of Super Lawyers magazine.  Dudovitz is an attorney at Strumwasser & Woocher in Los Angeles, where she focuses on election law and public law and has represented and advised clients including the Los Angeles Unified School District and Obama for America.

The couple, who married in 2002, have volunteered to contact classmates to inform them of the Mabie Challenge, in which the William and Inez Mabie Family Foundation has pledged to contribute an additional $500,000 to the King Hall Expansion and Renovation Project if the King Hall community can reach goals for alumni, faculty, and student participation.  They have served as Class Reunion volunteers, encouraging classmates to attend the 10-year reunion event at King Hall on September 26 and to remind them of the importance of making a Class Gift during their reunion year.  In addition, they have helped to organize Los Angeles-area get-togethers for King Hall alumni.

"I have nothing but positive things to say about Davis, and since I've graduated and talked to a lot of people about their experiences of law school, it has made me appreciate King Hall even more," said Kesselman.  "I think it's important for those of us who benefitted from our experience at King Hall to support the Law School and help provide the same opportunities for today's students."
