Aimee Feinberg Comments on Supreme Court Decision for Daily Journal
Aimee Feinberg, director of the new UC Davis School of Law California Supreme Court Clinic, commented for the Daily Journal on the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision barring states from imposing mandatory life sentences without parole on juveniles.
Feinberg said that the Court's ruling could impact the case of Rodrigo Caballero, whose challenge to his sentence of 110 years to life for crimes committed when he was a juvenile is now pending before the California Supreme Court.
"The [U.S. Supreme] Court did not specifically address the key question raised in Caballero, but I think there are a number of places in which the Court's language supports Mr. Caballero's argument," she said.
