Adjunct Professor George Demos Speaks to CNN Business About Holmes Verdict

George Demos, a UC Davis Law adjunct professor and a former Securities and Exchange Commission prosecutor, spoke to CNN Business about the trial on fraud charges of Elizabeth Holmes, founder of the blood-draw startup Theranos.

Holmes was found guilty on four out of 11 charges on Jan. 4 in San Jose. In a CNN story published that day, Demos called the verdict “a significant win for the government,” adding that it “sends a powerful signal to Silicon Valley that fraud cannot masquerade as innovation.” CNN Business also quoted Demos in a Jan. 3 report on the jury being deadlocked on three counts.
