2008 School of Law Commencement Webcast - SF Mayor Newsom Delivers Address
The School of Law Commencement was held on Saturday, May 17 at 10:30 AM at the UC Davis ARC Pavilion. The Law School awarded 18 Master of Laws and 198 Juris Doctor degrees at the ceremony. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom delivered the commencement address. Newsom, now in his second term as mayor, garnered national attention in 2004 when, in defiance of state law, he directed the city's county clerk to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
