Join UC Davis Law Professors Raquel Aldana, Hannah Buxbaum, and Chimène Keitner for a conversation about the January 3, 2026 U.S. military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Professor Keitner will discuss the international legal frameworks that apply to the military operation and the criminal prosecution, Professor Buxbaum will talk about U.S. extraterritoriality and transnational legal implications, and Professor Aldana will focus on the story of oil in Venezuela and how it informs this new intervention into Latin America.
