Volume 59 of the UC Davis Law Review Online is proud to present its inaugural symposium: The Past, Present, and Future of Fetal Personhood: An Online Symposium in Response to Personhood by Mary Ziegler. Debates about fetal personhood have surged in recent years, both in courtrooms and in the public sphere. In light of Professor Mary Ziegler’s revolutionary book, Personhood: The New Civil War Over Reproduction, this symposium addresses a variety of issues connected to fetal personhood and the ongoing debate on reproductive rights. This symposium will provide an inside look at the history of the fetal personhood debate and its potential consequences for bodily autonomy and personal liberty.
