Hannah Buxbaum, Professor of Law, UC Davis
Hannah Buxbaum is a leading expert in international jurisdiction, international litigation, and comparative law. In 2025, she was elected to the Institut de Droit International, a leading society that promotes the development of international law. She joined UC Davis in 2025 from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she had been a faculty member since 1997. She served in a number of administrative leadership positions at Indiana University, including as the university’s Vice President for International Affairs (2018-2025) and as Interim Dean (2012-2014) and Executive Associate Dean (2009-2012) of the Maurer School of Law.
Christiana Ochoa, Dean, Maurer School of Law, Indiana University Bloomington
Christiana Ochoa’s research seeks to understand how economic activity impacts human and ecological well-being. Her theoretical and empirical research relies on international and comparative law, particularly in the fields of Business & Human Rights, Law & Development, International Finance, and Foreign Direct Investment. She brings her field work—as well as her practice experience at the global law firm Clifford Chance and with a number of human rights and humanitarian non-governmental organizations in Latin America—to her research questions and classroom teaching.
