"A Career at the California Supreme Court"

Jake Dear is a member of the King Hall Class of 1983.  He served as Editor-in-Chief, UCD Law Review, volume 16.  From 1983 through early 2023, Jake has worked in and for the California Supreme Court — as a law clerk for Justice Stanley Mosk, a staff attorney for Justice Joseph Grodin, a supervising attorney for Chief Justice Malcom Lucas, and then as the Supreme Court’s Chief Supervising Attorney for Chief Justices Ronald M. George and Tani Cantil-Sakauye.  After “retiring” in early 2023, he’s stayed at the Court and is volunteering on major cases for current Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero.

Co-sponsored by Dean Kevin Johnson and the School of Law.
