The California Environmental Flows Framework: Opportunities and Challenges for Building Resilience in California's River Systems

Dr. Sarah Yarnell is an Associate Professional Researcher at the Center for Watershed Sciences, University of California, Davis.  Her research focuses on integrating the traditional fields of hydrology, ecology, and geomorphology in the river environment, with the goal of applying understanding of river ecosystem processes to managed river systems throughout California. She works closely with government resource agencies and the private sector to assess the impacts of environmental flows and habitat restoration on aquatic biota and provide recommendations for management that improve the functioning and resilience of river ecosystems.
