UC National Public Service Law Conference: Civil Rights in the 21st Century

Last weekend, I attended the University of California National Public Service Law Conference at UC Berkeley School of Law. Student and alum fellows of UC Davis Law were in attendance, including Ken Wang ‘18, and Jessica Martinez, Angela Yahaira Breining, and Nelly Chavez of the Class of 2019. 

I was on the first panel with President of the University of California Janet Napolitano and UC Law deans Erwin Chemerinsky (Berkeley), Jennifer Mnookin (UCLA), and Song Richardson (UCI).  We talked about what law schools can do to promote public service work, civil rights issues of the 21st century, and more. It was an exciting kickoff to an energizing conference.  It reminded me of the important roles that public schools play in promoting the public good.
