UC Davis Hosts California Attorney General's Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board

UC Davis hosted the California Attorney General's Racial and Identity Profiling Advisory Board meeting last week. The board is considering concerns with racial profiling in law enforcement. The meeting was open to the public. I received an invitation from the Attorney General's office to attend.

The board, composed of judges, lawyers, law enforcement officers and members of the public, has been tasked with putting together regulations on the state's law combatting racial profiling in policing. It was created to address a serious policy problem in the United States and around the world.

The advisory board meets in locations throughout the state. It seeks public comments on the work of the board.
