In UC Davis Event, Professor Elvy Talks About Her New Book

School is out but our professors are busy making presentations, attending conferences, and more. Last week, I was able to see our own Stacy-Ann Elvy participate in a UC Davis CAMPSSAH (Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspective on Social Science, Arts, and Humanities) Salon, "A Conversation on Scholars' Research and Life through the Pandemic.”

The Salon also featured Professor Benjamin Weber (Department of African American and African Studies), and Professor Beenash Jafri (Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies).

Professor Elvy has been at King Hall for two years. Her research focuses on “the commercial law of privacy” and its relationship to emerging technology, and human rights law. Her new book, The Internet of Things: The Future of Commercial Law and Privacy (Cambridge University Press), explores the consumer and legal implications of the Internet of Things.

During the Salon, Professor Elvy talked about the book, which comes out in June. We plan to start the new year at King Hall with a book talk and celebration.
