Summer Tax Institute 2023

The 31st Summer Tax Institute took place from June 12-15 at UC Davis School of Law.

The Summer Tax Institute is is an intensive, four-day conference for tax professionals. Classes qualify for Continuing Professional Education credits with CPE credit available.

Students come from both the public and private sectors and represent accounting firms, law firms, state agencies, and private industry from throughout the country. Classes utilize readings, lectures, case study method, hands-on exercises, and discussions, and feature nationally known scholars, tax administrators, and private practitioners as instructors. The instructors are experts on a wide range of tax issues and were accessible both in the classroom and on an informal basis throughout the four days to discuss students' questions.

Two UC Davis Law tax professors were featured prominently in the program. Professor Darien Shanske lectured to the students on the first day and throughout the week. Professor Dennis Ventry also participated in the programs. 

It was nice to see a full house in the Kalmanovitz Appellate Courtroom in June!
