Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court Starts the Year at King Hall
Judge Kam '95, our alum, receives SILC Award
Last week, UC Davis School of Law hosted the first meeting of the year of the Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court. The Inn is part of a national group of local inns that bring judges, lawyers, students, and law professors together to discuss cutting-edge legal issues and to build the commitment to the rule of law and civility in the legal profession.
Incoming Inn President Judge Dan Maguire
I was allowed to welcome the attendees to King Hall, which included many alums, judges and justices (including Presiding Justice Vance Raye, Justice Kathleen Butz ’81, and Judge Stacy Boulware Eurie ’95, and Judge Emily Vasquez). I also introduced Professors Alan Brownstein and Carlton Larson as well as Senior Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Hollis Kulwin, Assistant Dean for Career Services Craig Compton, Academic Support Director Chris Ide-Don, Aoki Center Director Mary Louise Frampton, and California Environmental Law and Policy Center Director Rick Frank. Law student members include Anujan Jeevaprakash, Gerardo Zaragoza, Angela Breining, Ian Dougherty, Ismah Ahmad, Priyam Desai, John Clancy, Dana Sever Scott, Max Engel (Law Student Association President), Kendra Clark, Gymmel Garcia, Olivia Leary, William Hodge, and Fernando Reyes, all in the Class of 2019.
SLIC Award
I was honored with a SLIC (Scwhartz/Levi Inn of Court) Award for assisting in the preparation of the Inn's anniversary gala in June.
The Inn is a wonderful event for catching up with alums and students are able to meet judges, lawyers, and (possibly) future employers.
