Remembering Justice Craig Stowers '85

I was saddened to find out that former Alaska Supreme Court Justice Craig Stowers '85 passed away on Feb. 10, more details here. Justice Stowers made a point to visit the law school to interview potential law clerks. King Hall has a long history of sending its alums to Alaska for clerkships with many alums deciding to settle in Alaska. I remember a past visit to the law school when Justice Stowers talked to students about possible clerkship opportunities in Alaska. He also relayed how he enjoyed his three formative years at UC Davis and took many environmental law classes from Harrison "Hap" Dunning, who now is Professor Emeritus. Before coming to Davis, Justice Stowers was a park ranger at Denali National Park in Alaska. He said his best job was being a park ranger.
We are all grateful for his support of the law school - Justice Stowers will be greatly missed by the King Hall community.
