'Rediscovering Mexico' Aoki Event

This week, the Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies offered the discussion "Rediscovering Mexico: Stories and Experiences with Advance Parole." Certain noncitizens with uncertain immigration status can leave the United States and return through what is known as parole.
Aoki Center fellow Yoxira Espinoza Guzman introduced and moderated the Zoom discussion, and Director of Diversity and Student Life Alexis Elston took questions from an in-person audience. Cinthya Bolaños Zamora, Marcela Fonseca, Maribel Magaña, Paulina Torres, and Professor Armando Vasquez-Ramos (Director, California-Mexico Studies Center) discussed the use of advanced parole to help non-U.S. citizens in Mexico.
It was a fascinating and uplifting discussion.
