Record employer turnout at Small and Midsize Firm Fair

Last Thursday evening, Natalie Butcher, Associate Director of Career Services, with the assistance of the entire Career Services office, put on the school’s sixth Small and Midsize Firm Fair. We were thrilled to see the biggest turnout ever for the event. More than 75 representatives from more than 50 law firms from Sacramento, the Bay Area, and the Central Valley, along with about 100 students, packed the halls of the law school. The firms presented a broad spectrum of practices including immigration, complex business litigation, estates and trusts, criminal defense, municipal law, tax, education, corporate, and environmental law.  A number of alums who originally secured their jobs through the job fair happily returned to recruit current students.

The event is designed to encourage students to consider small and midsize firms as a potential career path, and foster relationships between students, alumni, and their firms.  The fair continues to grow every year and brings numerous alumni back to King Hall, and offers tremendous career opportunities for UC Davis School of Law second and third-year students.  On November 14th the Career Services Office is excited to bring many more employers onto campus when it hosts its second annual Public Interest and Government Job Fair.
