A quiet King Hall
In April, UC Davis School of Law is ordinarily a bustling madhouse of energy. Classes are nearing an end. The many wonderful student organizations are celebrating with end-of-the-year events. The energy and excitement are palpable as the graduating class starts thinking in earnest about transitioning to being professionals.
COVID-19 has created a very different spring 2020 at Martin Luther King Jr. Hall. As I walked the halls last week to pick up mail and ensure the integrity of the building, the halls were quiet. Faculty teach classes to students remotely. End-of-year celebrations have been canceled or postponed.
As
had been announced, commencement for the Class of 2020 has been postponed. Like the graduating class, I look forward to a true — and safe — celebration. The wonderful King Hall community deserves a great, loud, and proud event.
