Professors Ikemoto and Joslin Discuss Roe v. Wade

A leaked draft opinion suggests that the Supreme Court could overturn long-standing protections of abortion rights. What’s the reasoning behind such a decision, and what do legal scholars make of it? How did we get to this point, and what are the implications for other Supreme Court decisions? Two experts from the UC Davis School of Law - Professors Lisa Ikemoto and Courtney Joslin - will discuss these issues and take your questions.

Lisa Ikemoto teaches bioethics, health care law, public health law, reproductive rights, law and policy, and marital property. Her research areas include reproductive rights and justice, especially the ways that race, gender, disability and wealth mediate access to and impacts of biomedical technology use and health care.

Courtney Joslin teaches constitutional law, employment discrimination, family law, and sexual orientation, gender identity and the law. Joslin is a leading expert in the areas of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and unmarried couples.
