The Aoki Center on Critical Race and Nation Studies continued the Critical Perspectives on the 1L curriculum this week. Professor Stacy-Ann Elvy discussed racial and social justice issues in the Civil Procedure course. She specifically looked at access to justice issue implicated by the rules of pleading in complaints filed with the court.   
 
An experienced and engaging classroom teacher, Professor Elvy offered a succinct analysis of the pleading rules and their impacts on outsider groups. A full house of students were spellbound by the presentation.
