Outstanding 55th Annual Irving J. Neumiller Moot Court Competition

Last week, the Moot Court Honors Board held the final round of the 55th Annual Irving J. Neumiller Moot Court Competition. A great group of justices judged the competition: Associate Justices Ronald Robie and Louis Mauro of the 3rd Appellate District Court of Appeals in California, and Senior U.S. District Court Judges for the Eastern District of California William Shubb and John Mendez, along with U.S. District Judge Troy Nunley for the Eastern District of California.

The advocates for the finals were four second-year students, judged to be the four best advocates in the competition:

  • Alexandria Marx and Sinporion Phuong, who both attended UC Berkeley as undergraduates.
  • Yenna Ahn and Hyein Kim, who both attended Yonsei University in South Korea as undergraduates.

It was a spirited set of arguments. Our King Hall advocates responded well to a hot bench, with many questions.

Congrats to all the advocates. And a special thanks to the wonderful judges for spending time to judge the competition!
