Culture Week Commences for Native American Law Students Association

Yesterday was a busy Monday at UC Davis School of Law. During lunch hour, the Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) kicked off its Culture Week with Professor Matthew Fletcher of the University of Michigan Law School, who talked about Federal Indian law.

In the Kalmanovitz Appellate Courtroom over the lunch hour, Judge Troy Nunley of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California talked to our students about how, in his view, UC Davis Law was the best in California. Second-year student Kim Martinez, who externed for Judge Nunley last summer and is one of my mentees in the First Generation Advocates program, asked Judge Nunley some questions in a fireside chat format. We heard, among other things, that Judge Nunley is a fan of true crime podcasts.
