A Meeting of the California Lawyer Magazine Editorial Advisory Board
This past Saturday, I attended my first meeting of the California Lawyer magazine editorial advisory board.
Attendees at the meeting, which was held in downtown Los Angeles, included Chief Justice of California Tani Cantil-Sakauye '84, State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, and leading lawyers and judges and others from across the state. The group had a lively discussion of the various issues facing the legal profession, the courts, civil rights and access to justice, and law schools. I rarely can recall a discussion of this sort with such well-informed perspectives with such a great diversity of opinions and viewpoints. The board had a number of ideas on stories for the new editor of the magazine, Chuleenan Svetvilas.
