Lessons From the UC on Race Neutral Admissions Processes
Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies Legal Fellow Giselle Garcia '23 has posted an insightful blog about race and admission policies in the University of California system.
She writes, "On August 14, 2023, the Biden-Harris Administration issued two resources for colleges and universities now forced to navigate the Court’s holding in Students for Fair Admissions: that consideration of race 'in and of itself' as a factor in college admission processes violates the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964."
