LaLSA Announces New Logo
This week King Hall's Latinx Law Students Association (LaLSA) released their new logo! Their Board commissioned artist Peyton Yen (Instagram: @lilpeystudio) to create it.
Here is Peyton Yen's explanation behind the logo:
"For the LaLSA logo, the main difficulty was encompassing so many different vibrant countries and identities in one image. Héctor had the initial idea of using various animals to represent different Latin American countries. After a few sketches and some research, I determined that one animal would be more powerful for the image, and decided to go with the jaguar. I found out the jaguar is an animal found across all of Latin America. The courageous, bold, and brave spirit of the jaguar felt fitting for a group of Latinx law students. To further incorporate the legal aspect of the organization, I depict the jaguar with the scales of justice, its paw outweighing the scale in its favor. I also incorporate the shape of the Latin American countries on a globe, for clear readable imagery. The globe is portrayed as the center of a sun, which is also a strong traditional motif in many Latin American cultures."
Congrats, LaLSA!
