Labor Day weekend Aggies football at Berkeley
It was a big day on Labor Day weekend when the football team played PAC 12’s California Golden Bears in Memorial Stadium at UC Berkeley. It was a warm and beautiful Saturday. The Aggies had a magical first quarter and had a 10-0 lead before the home team came back for a hard-fought victory.
At pre-game lunch with Bill Mantle '74
Before the game, I attended the UC Davis CAAA event at the baseball stadium in Berkeley and had lunch with our erstwhile alum Bill Mantle ‘74, who loves Aggie sports. It was great feeling the energy of the Aggie faithful.
At the game, sitting nearby was Professor Jasmine Harris, her husband Grant Harris, and their wonderful children, Lincoln and Lilyana. They enjoyed a festive day of college football and a battle between true student athletes.
Craig Stevenson '71
The big surprise of the day was to discover an alum, Craig Stevenson ‘71, was sitting one seat down. Craig has season tickets for Cal football. He told me about his great days at King Hall. I presented Craig with my UC Davis School of Law baseball cap. Check out the picture with Craig smiling with his new cap.
It was a wonderful and fun day.
