King Hall Night at Basketball Doubleheader

UC Davis School of Law faculty, students, staff, and alumni had a wonderful night at the Pavilion watching the men’s and women’s basketball teams compete in a doubleheader. I was the honorary coach for both teams and greatly enjoyed being on the sidelines at the game.

We had a number of alums in attendance, including Bill Mantle ‘74 (who has season tickets) and Eli Makus ‘04, alumni board member who brought his family.  Davis Enterprise columnist and King Hall alum Bob Dunning ’73 came by to say hello.

Professor Irene Joe, an avid sports fan, sat with me and my wife, Virginia.  The Aggie women played fundamentally tough basketball — and excellent defense -- to beat the CSU Fullerton Titans.  It was a close first quarter but the Aggie women wore the Titans down.

The second game was hard fought and physical.  The UCSB Gauchos played tough basketball, especially under the boards, but the Aggie men battled to the end in a losing effort.

Overall, it was a great night at the Pavilion.
