An Honor to Speak on Behalf of Justice Castillo '06

More good King Hall news! Today, Jose Castillo '06 was confirmed and sworn in as an Associate Justice on the California Fourth District Court of Appeal.

The Commission on Judicial Appointments, chaired by Chief Justice of California Patricia Guerrero and including Attorney General Rob Bonta and Presiding Justice Manuel Ramirez, unanimously confirmed Governor Newsom's nomination of Jose. He has been a Superior Court Judge in San Diego since 2020 and had been assigned family law. 

A 2006 alum of King Hall, Jose was a wonderful member of the Alumni Board from 2016-22! I was one of two witnesses called on his behalf -- the other was U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel of the Southern District of California -- and was proud and honored to have that opportunity. An immigrant from Mexico, Jose's story is a true American story. It is wonderful to see his hard work and Marine spirit pay off.
