On the eve before Commencement 2019, Professor Rick Frank, Director of the California Environmental Law and Policy Center, presided over the Environmental Law Certificate ceremonies for graduating students who satisfied the rigorous requirements for the certificate.

Our environmental law student community is one of the most active at the law school, regularly sponsoring many events:  the annual Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite, the Public Interest Environmental Law Conference in Eugene, Oregon, the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, the Water Law Symposium, and the State Bar’s annual Student Environmental Negotiations Competition.

This year, nine students were honored with a certificate.  Professor Frank introduced each student and their various environmental law activities.

Students have eagerly filled environmental law courses taught by Professors Christopher Elmendorf, Richard Frank, Albert Lin, Camille Pannu and Darien Shanske along with Karen Douglas, John McKinsey, Tim Taylor, and Christopher Scheuring.  And Karrigan Bork will join the law faculty next year.

A special thank you to Rick Frank, director of the California Environmental Law and Policy Center.   Formerly at UC Berkeley School of Law, Frank returned to his alma mater in January 2010.   For more than 30 years, Professor Frank practiced law with government, most of that time with the California Department of Justice.  In 2006, former Governor Schwarzenegger appointed Professor Frank to the Delta Vision Task Force.  We are very fortunate to have Professor Frank with us at King Hall.
