George Acero, Friend of King Hall, Sworn In As Sacramento Superior Court Judge

Last week had a fantastic end. My friend George Acero was sworn in as a judge on the Sacramento Superior Court.
A graduate of UC Berkeley School of Law, George has had a distinguished legal career, most recently at his own plaintiffs-side employment law firm. I first met George about 15 years ago; he was representing me in a deposition in a lawsuit against the university.
George was instrumental in changing the name of La Raza Lawyers of Sacramento to the Cruz Reynoso Bar Association. Of course, Justice Reynoso, who passed away a few weeks ago, was a longtime professor at UC Davis School of Law. In his remarks after being sworn in as judge, George spoke of Cruz with affection as a mentor and inspiration.
King Hall friend Judge Emily Vasquez administered the oath to George. Judge Vasquez, of course, is a frequent visitor to King Hall and a prominent leader of the Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court.
George Acero will be a great judge. We will have him visit King Hall soon.
