Exploring immigration law for Constitution Week

As part of Constitution Week, I had the privilege of talking about immigration and the U.S. Constitution at Reedley College, a community college in the San Joaquin Valley that is well over 50 percent Latinx.  I was pleased that Reedley has a webpage for DREAMers.

I talked about the constitutional basis for immigration regulation, the history of regulation in the United States, and some contemporary immigration issues. We had plenty of time for a Q&A, and the questions were amazing. The students really had some wonderful insights and questions about the rights of undocumented immigrants, sanctuary cities, possible constitutional amendments, and more.

I always leave talks with students believing that the future is in good hands.
