Celebrating King Hall's Janitors and Inn of Court Meeting
The end of year events continue in full force as the 2022/23 academic year comes to a close.

Last week, the law students, led by Law Student Association President Jason Wong ‘23 and Vice President Brenda Quintanilla ‘24, held a festive celebration of the hard work of our janitors at King Hall. Without their hard work, King Hall just would not be as nice a place to be. We met on a beautiful evening in the King Hall courtyard to celebrate the wonderful group of professionals, listed below. I had the honor of voicing thanks at the outset of the program.
- Maureen Dommer
- Joseph Williams (manager)
- Michael Leal (supervisor)
- Michael Orona (supervisor)
- Sandeep Kaur (principal)
- Rosa Plasencia
- MaryJane Santiago
- Edwin Flores
- Shafeena Ali (supervisor)
- Ravneel Singh (Lead)
- Jaime Jimenez (principal)
Later that same evening, the Schwartz/Levi Inn of Court, led by President (and Justice) Shama Mesiwala '98, held its monthly meeting. King Hall Professor Chris Elmendorf talked about "Elections: Challenges in the Field and in Court." With the 2024 Presidential election on the horizon, students, lawyers, judges, and the public are asking about the elections and how many current developments, such as former President Trump’s criminal indictment, will impact the elections.

Before the program, Justice Mesiwala mentioned to me that a group of King Hall alums at a judicial training decided on the King Hall Justices Photo that I had been sent earlier in the day. She also told me that no other law school had as many alums at the training as UC Davis Law did.
