California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation Gala

Last week, California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation held its annual gala at the elegant California Museum in Sacramento. Executive Director of CRLAF Amagda Pérez and co-director of the UC Davis School of Law Immigration Law Clinic, served as emcee for a program that included a speech by native Sacramentan Xavier Becerra, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. CRLAF honored Becerra for his public service. Ambassador Liliana Ferrer, consul general for Mexico in Sacramento, introduced Secretary Becerra.

I attended and sat at the UC Davis table. Professor Raquel Aldana, my research assistant Perla Gonzalez, and other law students enjoyed the celebration.
