American Board of Trial Advocates Civility Matters Event
Panelists for an American Board of Trial Advocates event on Oct. 13 provided firsthand lessons about how civility matters when engaging with our adversarial legal system and the inside scoop on lessons learned in litigation. They addressed questions like: What does a judge expect from lawyers in the courtroom? What do you do if your client is being rude or disrespectful to the court? Can opposing counsel really be friends? It was a lively discussion that we were happy to host at King Hall.
Our esteemed panelists included:
- The Honorable David De Alba, Sacramento Superior Court (Ret.), Judicate West, Mediator
- Linda J.L. Sharpe, Esq., (Ret.), Senior Staff Attorney, The Hartford, as defense counsel
