Alumni Lunch in Oakland

The King Hall faithful met on a beautiful day in downtown Oakland for an alumni lunch last week.  We had a wonderful turnout, including two incoming first year students, Darien Lo (UC Berkeley alum) and Peter Mans (Brown alum).  Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations Karen Charney made the journey from the heat of the valley to the relative coolness of the East Bay.  It was wonderful filling in the alums in attendance of the superstar incoming class, the great work of the Immigration Clinic and faculty, the new Martin Luther King Jr. mural in the King Hall courtyard, and much more.

Among those in attendance were Bill Mantle ’74, Gene Woo ’85, Karen Dempsey `88, Brian Fraser ’89, Anand Patel ’07, Maggie Trinh `11, and James Zahradka ‘98. (currently working on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) litigation in the U.S. Supreme Court).  Our alums were wonderful ambassadors for the law school and told the incoming students about the wonders of King Hall and joining the tight-knit law school community.
