2019 King Hall Legal Foundation Auction

Over the weekend, the King Hall Legal Foundation (KHLF) held its annual charity auction to fund public interest fellowships for law students.  For me, the KHLF auction is always one of the highlights of the academic year.  This year's auction was no different.  

The students had a wonderful set of donations to auction off, including lunch, dinners, and events with law professors, tickets for sporting events, trips to the wine country and the mountains, and much more.

There were a wonderful group of auction participants in attendance.  Sacramento Mayor and King Hall alum Darrell Steinberg '84 bid on items, as did Davis Enterprise reporter and columnist, and King Hall alum, Bob Dunning '73.  Numerous law professors, including Carlton Larson (and his lovely family), Dennis Ventry, Lisa Ikemoto, and Alan Brownstein, were among the faculty members there.   

Last year, KHLF awarded more than $30,000 to 33 students working in organizations such as the Yolo County Public Defender's Office, Homeless Action Center, Eviction Defense Collaborative, and the California Water Resource Control Board.  The KHLF auction allows students to pursue their interests in experiencing public service and public interest jobs.  And many pursue careers in those area.

Co-Chairs Annie Youchah and Thomas Kroner and the entire KHLF team put together a wonderful community event.  It also helps students pursue their dreams!
